  • Current Research Themes
    I am pursuing two major research themes simultaneously. One is information culture research in which I see the South Manchurian Railroad (Mantetsu), JTB, and Nomura Securities as the forerunners of Japanese-style institutional research, and the other is the study of equestrian culture using the bird’s-eye-view works of artist Yoshida Hatsusaburō (the Hiroshige of the Taishō era).
